BioVeritas’ SCFAs are created by upcycling food-safe excess biomass into human-food-safe ingredients. SCFAs supplement those produced natively in the pet, which have been shown to have positive effects on gut health. These SCFAs are non-living and, therefore, have improved stability over time and at high processing temperatures over probiotics.

With the rise of “pet parents,” interest in the quality of life of their pets has risen as well. Biotics, namely probiotics, are a common solution to improve gut health and subsequently overall health, but these living organisms struggle to maintain stability during processing and over time, leading to reduced efficacy. In addition to health benefits, pet parents are seeking solutions that come from sources they can trust.  

USE CASE

Short chain fatty acids are produced by the good bacteria of the gut microbiome and are the main source of energy for the colon. SCFAs have been linked to many health benefits from anti-inflammation to improved digestion.
